Clarence Jackson called the meeting to order at 10:00 am. APPROVAL OF AGENDA:

desire to hear information concerning generator installation which
included load management. o

COMMITTEE REPORTS: GENERAL DISCUSSION: ·
HB 328- concerning electronic application submittal,
payment and updates. o
Motion
was made and seconded to state that Region VII was opposed to this bill.
It constitutes an unfunded mandate. The cost to implement the
requirements of this bill was considered to be prohibitive, especially
for small jurisdictions, given the current economy and decreased
budgets. ·
Proposed House Bill amending Code of VA sections
54.1-2310 and 36-99 would exempt all structures in a cemetery, including
chapels and administrative structures, from provisions of the building
code. These exemptions would include accessibility, fire protection,
egress, etc. ·
Discussed other structures that are exempt from the
building code, including agricultural buildings, wineries, butcher shops
on farms and grain silos. ·
There will be an information seminar January 24, 2012
from 9 – noon at Newport News Town Center. The seminar presents
information regarding ISO/ CRS/ FEMA. There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned at 11:30 am. NEXT MEETING DATE, PLACE and TIME The next meeting is
scheduled for 10:00 am, February15, 2012 at Cooke’s Corner Office
Complex, 2911 General Puller Highway. Gloucester County will be
