CALL TO ORDER:

            Vice-Chairman Andy Marchetti called the meeting to order at 10:00 am.

 

APPROVAL OF AGENDA:

            Agenda item #7 was amended to read ‘Committee Reports’. The agenda was approved as amended.

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

            Minutes of the March meeting were approved as written.

 

PRESENTATION:

·         Valrae and Paula presented information on upcoming DHCD workshops for the 2012 regulatory process. The information consisted of the dates of the 4 workgroup meetings, dates of publication for the Notice of Intended regulatory Act in the Virginia Register. Proposed 2012 regulations are scheduled to become effective March/July, 2014.

 

·         The base document for the 2012 USBC is available on the DHCD website.

·         DHCD Workgroup #4 (2012 USBC 1PC, IMC, IFGC, NEC, IGCC) will meet

·         May 30, 2012.

·         DHCD Workgroup #3 (2012 USBC International residential Code) will meet June 14, 2012.

·         Contact Janice Firestone at janice.firestone@dhcd.virginia.gov or 804-371-7150 for more information regarding schedules, agendas or registration.

·         There are Energy Code training sessions up coming in May and June.

·          New on-line energy training is scheduled to be available in June/July. Contact Sandy Morris with DHCD-TASO for information

NEW BUSINESS:

            None

           

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

·         Property maintenance

o   Has a meeting scheduled for April 20 in Charlottesville.

·         Administrative and IBC Committees have meet and made recommendations regarding submitted code change proposals

 

GENERAL DISCUSSION:

·         Contract stacking (multiple active contracts at one site) shall not be allowed as a means to exceed contractor licensure limits

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:00 am.

 

 

NEXT MEETING DATE, PLACE and TIME

The next meeting is scheduled for 10:00 am, May 16, 2012 at Cooke’s Corner Office Complex, 2911 General Puller Highway.

 

The Town of Colonial Beach will be host.
